Materials

As I mentioned before, I am in the process of building up my studio’s supplies. Most recently, I have acquired a drafting table and chair, and some small accessories for travel and design projects, and now I am shifting my attention to materials.

I feel like a blank slate when it comes to getting my supplies right now. All I have at the moment are a few things I have left over from classes in college with a couple odds and ends thrown in from impulse buys on sporadic trips to art stores, so my studio supply is sparse, to say the least. In efforts to rectify this issue, I have been replacing old items such as brushes and paints and gathering new supplies that I simply have been needing. I have been doing some research on pastels and have decided to order Sennelier Soft Pastels (new to me). I also ordered some Winsor & Newton watercolor brushes (my go-to brushes in school), to begin the process of updating my brush collection, and a travel bag for my supplies in the field.

Things are coming together so well and we are so super excited about the launch of our new  journey and where it will lead us in the coming future: myself as an individual artist, my wonderful husband Allen and I as newlyweds, partners, and parents, and the growth of artists in the incredible realm of art in the world!

I am working on a piece in which I intend to incorporate graphite and pastel in a 19×24” image on Strathmore Windpower Vellum Bristol paper. Sneak peaks of this project have been posted to Instagram!
