This review is going to be the easiest review I think I will ever have to write. As far as functionality and packaging or customer service is concerned, everything was exactly as it should have been, and would leave this review normally saying that I am satisfied with my purchase and the item operates as intended.
In this case, however, I have had a rather unique experience that leaves me feeling the need to expand a bit on this particular item, which I cover in detail in my blog “Dealing with Disaster”, but in a nutshell, this thing survived the supernatural drop test of the century and survived completely unscathed and fully functioning. So here is my review:
This light pad comes with three small binder clips, a stand, a sketching pencil, an eraser, some basic color pencils, and a USB power cord with an outlet adapter and adjusts brightness via the power button on the top left corner of the surface of the pad (not in the center, as pictured on Amazon (notice differences in my photos from the stock photos on Amazon). It is thin and lightweight and easy to use on the go. My light pad had a self-launch and fly capability installed, which then magically transformed into a dive with extreme force capability, and upon impact gained a (likely temporary) immortality which allowed it to miraculously leave a large amount of material transfer on my drafting table with no visible harm (scratches, scrapes, blemishes of any kind) done to the pad itself, then enabled it to backflip off the metal catch at the bottom of my drafting table (which it hit center mass), gracefully landing on the floor next to my chair. This pad is in mint condition! (Though I am going to assume this was a one-time-use only spell of immortality and do not intend to attempt these acrobatics ever again, nor do I recommend anyone try it, for they may be much less fortunate than I in the result!)
This is an extremely handy and useful tool to add to anyone’s studio space and makes an affordable gift for those who aren’t sure what to give the special artist in their life.
